Project Controls Specialist / Senior Cost Consultant - Life Science & Industrial Manufacturing Projects (Construction)
Note : This is a hybrid role and requires employees to be on site 3-5 days per week or as required by the client, in the Denver area. Relocation package available.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Cost Consultant to support major capital projects in the Life Sciences and Industrial Manufacturing sectors.
This is a client-facing role where you will provide strategic guidance, cost planning, procurement support, and financial oversight across complex capital projects. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with client goals. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes, while maintaining a focus on sustainability, efficiency, and innovation.
Responsibilities
Cost Planning and Control : Lead the development and presentation of detailed cost plans, ensuring that all financial aspects of the project are well-managed, from initial estimates through to final account. You will also be responsible for managing cost forecasts and tracking project expenditure.
Procurement and Contract Management : Oversee the procurement process, from prequalification through to contract negotiation and award. Ensure that procurement stages are executed efficiently, maintaining transparency and compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement : Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic cost advice, addressing issues, and offering solutions that align with project goals. You will also engage with external consultants and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Project Financial Oversight : Manage the day-to-day cost management of medium to large-scale projects, including handling change management, pay requests, and cost reporting. Ensure financial risks are identified early and appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
Post-Contract Financial Management : Ensure post-contract cost controls are effectively implemented, including monitoring cost variations, conducting value engineering, preparing cost reports, and managing final account settlements.
Qualifications
- Relevant Degree (MSc, MBA, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field)
- Professional membership i.e. MRICS / RICS (or equivalent and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional development.
- 10 years' experience in a Cost Consultancy role, with experience in managing life science, industrial manufacturing or other large-scale capital projects.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to clients and stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner. Proven ability to lead and mentor teams.
- In-depth understanding of procurement processes and contract administration, with the ability to advise clients on best practices and project delivery methods.
- Strong commercial and financial skills, with experience managing budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasting. Ability to apply value engineering techniques and assess life cycle costs.
