Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Responsibility Highlights include :
- Responsible for direct resident care by administering the therapy outlined in the plan of care to assist the resident to develop or regain functioning to perform activities of daily living.
- Administration of occupational therapy treatments to residents as outlined by the physician’s orders and the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist.
- Reports information related to the Occupational Therapist regarding the resident’s progress, complications and / or response to treatment.
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in performing procedures, tests and complex treatments to ensure the safe and effective evaluation and treatment of residents.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility and physician-related information.
- Maintains accurate billing information in accordance with procedures on a daily basis.
- Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team.
- Attends and participates in family meetings as appropriate.
- Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation Department and the facility
- Expected to meet productivity standards as established by the Director of Therapy.
