Platinum Technologies currently has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to support our Program (COOLR).
This role is located in Colorado Springs, CO. Candidate must hold an active DoD TS/SCI clearance. A 9x80 schedule for flexibility.
What you get to do.
•Participating in the implementation, maintenance, and support of information technologies, to include Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Solaris, and Microsoft Windows systems and components.
•The primary responsibility for this position is for Microsoft Windows systems.
•The Administrator develops, schedules, and performs installations and upgrades to OS/COTS, software, and database packages in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
•Will coordinate the overall integration on new development systems as they transition to sustainment.
•Managing appropriate software solutions to ensure server data integrity, monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance level, monitoring security alerts and application systems, and working with other staff to ensure that all appropriate patches are applied in an automated and timely fashion.
Required Skills.
•5-7 years of DIRECT Red Hat/Linux experience
•User and Packet management
•Ability to code in Bash and an understanding of Cron jobs
•Direct ansible scripting for complex virtualized environments
•Yum experience
•Extensive experience with authentication methodologies – LDAP, MFA ect
•Samba Shares
•Basic networking as related to RHEL – TCP/UDP, DNS, Connecting to a host
•Use of Sudo, and handling limited root tasks
•A complete understanding of permissions and least privilege
•Intimate experience with securing a Linux environment, not limited to STIG checks
Preferred Skills.
•Experience with Git and concepts of source code management
•Python language experience
•Experience with containers - rpm, jar, kubernetes

Salary : $145,000 - $155,000
