Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Cabinet Shop Foreman and Lead Installer to independently manage a small, one-person cabinet shop. This role requires expertise in custom cabinet fabrication, shop management, and on-site installation. As the sole operator, you will oversee all aspects of production, from design and construction to delivery and installation, ensuring exceptional quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Shop Management and Production:
• End-to-End Cabinet Making: Handle all phases of cabinet production, including design, cutting, assembly, finishing, and preparation for installation.
• Project Planning: Review project specifications, create cut lists, and manage workflows to meet deadlines.
• Equipment and Maintenance: Operate and maintain all shop tools, machinery, and equipment in excellent working condition.
• Inventory Control: Source and manage materials, ensuring accurate stock levels for each project.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all cabinets meet design specifications and uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Lead Installation:
• On-Site Installation: Personally install custom cabinetry with precision and attention to detail, ensuring alignment, functionality, and a flawless finish.
• Client Interaction: Serve as the face of the company during installations, providing excellent customer service and addressing client concerns.
• Problem-Solving: Adapt to on-site challenges, such as adjustments to fit or design changes, while maintaining efficiency.
• Safety Standards: Ensure all work, both in the shop and on-site, adheres to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years in custom cabinetry or woodworking, with significant experience in both shop production and on-site installation.
• Skills:
• Mastery of woodworking tools, machinery, and installation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and design specifications.
• Strong time management and organizational skills for independently managing multiple projects.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in both shop and job site environments.
• Other:
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
• Familiarity with woodworking design software (e.g., mozaik, AutoCAD) is a plus.
