Schedule : 48 / 96 shift schedule; subject to callback as needed

Position Summary
The Firefighter performs a variety of duties related to emergency response, training, and public service. Responsibilities include fire suppression, rescue operations, hazardous materials mitigation, and emergency medical services (EMS). This position requires extensive training and physical readiness to respond to both emergent and non-emergent situations.
This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning overtime compensation will be provided in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Responds to alarms to protect lives and property through fire suppression, rescue operations, and hazard mitigation.
- Provides emergency medical assistance within scope of training and certification.
- Assists in fire prevention efforts, public education, and community engagement programs.
- Promotes a professional and positive image of the Fire District in all duties.
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
- Works cooperatively and respectfully with career and volunteer personnel to accomplish Fire District objectives.
- Maintains current knowledge of streets, roads, and address systems within the Fire District.
- Adheres to all Fire District policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains required certifications and ongoing training.
- Ensures that apparatus and equipment are properly maintained, cleaned, and ready for response.
- Inspects all assigned apparatus and equipment at least weekly to ensure operational readiness.
- Participates in station maintenance and cleanliness efforts.
- Operates Fire District vehicles, apparatus, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by Fire District leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
