Position: Sign Production Layout Technician

Job Level: Entry to Middle Level

Location: 60 Trade Rd. (with potential for other locations)

About the Role:

As a Sign Production Technician, you will play a crucial role in our team, contributing to various aspects of sign production and technical tasks. This is not a remote position and does not involve traditional graphic design tasks. Instead, you will be involved in:

• Providing exceptional customer service, handling reception, consultations, developing quotations, and closing sales in line with our core Customer Service Philosophy.
• Creating and designing sign for production.
• Assisting with design, concept development, and setting up proofs.
• Developing and executing production layout standards.
• Assisting in production tasks and understanding the capabilities and operation of all production equipment.
• Proofreading and editing all documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Managing electronic and paper records related to jobs meticulously.
• Overseeing media profiles and ensuring they are up-to-date.
• Continuously learning new technologies, skills, and techniques to enhance your sign-making expertise.
• Using our time tracking software daily to manage tasks efficiently.
• Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the manufacturing/production area.
• Adhering to procedures and policies across all companies.
• Taking on other projects and jobs as needed.
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Highly detail-oriented and organized.
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator or CAD design software.
• Strong understanding and comfort with dimensions and measurements.
• Proficiency in converting between imperial and metric measurements, including decimals and fractions.
• Excellent communication and managerial skills.
• Ability to embrace and encourage team spirit and uphold our Customer Service Philosophy.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information accurately.
• Must pass a reference check for credibility and a background check.
• Proven track record of winning, closing deals, and leading a department.
• Energetic, expressive, and pleasant personality.
• Solid computer skills with the ability to learn sign-making techniques.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of Company Sign layout philosophy.
• Experience as a Project Production Coordinator in production operations.
• Consultation or sales experience and/or one year of supervisory experience.
• Background in vinyl creation and application.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
• Strong understanding of font selection and management.
• Knowledge of color management.
• Experience with GRAPHTEC 9000-160 plotter/cutter, GRAPHTEC Cutting Master 5, and Onyx RIP software.
• Experience with large format digital printing, such as HP365 or equivalent.
• Understanding of media profiles and how to manage them.
• Experience with roll-over laminating tables.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows-based computer systems.
• Previous sign-making experience.
• Digital drafting skills.
