- Coordinates building and district professional development in collaboration with building and district leaders
- Collaborates with the building principal, Positive Support Coach, and EL Specialist to provide strategic coaching supports for staff.
- Serve as a role model to all students.
- Serve as a positive member of the community in a way that does not negatively affect the District’s reputation or image in the community.
- Refrain from engaging in conduct that interferes with the operations of the District, including the education of students.
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other staff and administration.
- Adhere to all District policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
- Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and District rules.
- Adhere to the code of ethics of the District and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE Rule 27).
- Master Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, and/or specified content area
- LETRS trained or a willingness to be trained

Position Purpose:
As part of GIPS’s Systems of Support, Academic Support Coaches provide job-embedded professional learning that helps GIPS teachers more effectively and consistently support Tier I instruction. In conjunction with school principals, Academic Support Coaches are members of the building leadership team that help provide the support and technical expertise teachers need to implement highly effective instructional strategies and the district’s high quality curricular resources with a focus on student achievement outcomes. These coaches will spend the majority of their time in classrooms observing the teaching and learning process, then providing individual teachers with growth-evoking feedback. A significant amount of time will also be spent supporting teachers with standards-based planning and analyzing data to drive instructional and building level decisions aligned with district strategic plan priorities.
