Position Overview:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our accounting department with daily accounting tasks and assist with auditing functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and assisting with audit processes. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively with the legal team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
This is an onsite position. A successful candidate will be required to work at our office during regular business hours. Remote work options are not available for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Posting of client costs and firm expenses in the payables system
- Match and mail payables
- Updating client files within billing software
- Process and submit client bills and assist with audits provided by the clients on hourly billing
- Scan and file accounting and billing documents (paperless environment)
- Perform other clerical accounting duties as assigned by the accounting or legal teams.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Experience:
o 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
o Familiarity with accounting software.
o Understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
o Electronic legal billing experience a plus.
o Experience with audit-related tasks or in a compliance-driven role is a plus.
Skills:
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
o Excellent organizational and time management skills.
o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
o Professional demeanor and confidentiality with financial information.
