Play.ai (fka PlayHT, YC '23) is at the forefront of generative voice and conversational LLMs. With our Speech Synthesis and Voice Cloning capabilities, we are building the SOTA conversational AI models.

We are seeking a talented Product Designer who is passionate about solving hard problems and inventing the future of how people interact with LLMs. By joining our team, you have the opportunity to be a founding member and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Conversational Voice AI.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong command of visual and communication design principles

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Creative and resourceful

  • Passion for design and ability to think through complex interactions and come up with tasteful solutions

  • Enjoys improving existing patterns and finding innovative solutions for new features and use cases

  • Flexible and comfortable with ambiguity and change during a project

  • Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Framer, Origami, SwiftUI, etc.

  • Enthusiasm and curiosity about LLMs and web technologies

Responsibilities:

  • Work in a highly collaborative, iterative and cross-functional environment with design, engineering and business development teams

  • Work on both broadly-defined, loose concepts, and narrowly-defined, tactical deliverables

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design ideas quickly

  • Share your work regularly and participate in design reviews with leadership

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design solutions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to refine and implement your designs.

  • Work closely with designers to develop and expand various design systems

  • Work closely with engineers to ensure a high-quality implementation

  • Grow the design culture and processes within the company

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure our platform remains innovative and competitive

Requirements:

  • 1 yr experience in Product Design, Interaction Design, UI/UX

  • A deep understanding of design principles, interaction design, and user-centered design processes

  • You can incorporate multiple inputs like user needs, product strategy and technical constraints

  • You can craft clear verbal and written narratives, and articulate a vision that gets team members aligned

  • The ability to work independently

  • A growth mindset and eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

  • Basic understanding of front-end development technologies (React, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus

  • You want to work on a team comprised of talented and experienced software designers and engineers, building a product that will make an impact to society
