Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver curriculum founded on PCLC philosophies
- Create positive learning environments including resources based on child-directed learning
- Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior
- Build good, open communication with children, families and staff
- Observe and record children's growth, development and behavior using electronic portfolios
- Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe
- Undertake administrative tasks as required
- Use techniques to teach development in the following: language, literacy, phonemic awareness, math reasoning, number sequence, science, music, arts, imagination, small/large group interaction
- Use DRDP to observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
You will need:
- Early childhood teaching qualification, BA, AA and AS degrees are preferred (Early Childhood) but not required
- Experience working in a childcare setting
- Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A good level of computer literacy
- Current First Aid certificate and immunization including T.B., Pertussis and measles.
- Clean medical and background clearance
- A good understanding of Reggio Emilia philosophy and how to apply it to children’s lessons
- Spanish skills are highly desired
Position Requirements:
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. approximately 100 times per day/shift. Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, hearing, talking, and repetitive motion are physical requirements of the position.
- Be familiar with and follow all school policies and licensing rules.
- Required responsibilities include moping, cleaning with supplies like bleach, and disinfecting classrooms on a regular basis
- Must have received or wiling to get COVID vaccination (or doctor's exception letter)
