Full-time (38-42 hours per week)
Summary of the Retail Store Manager Position:
Act as liaison between store and general management, clearly communicating and reporting on store operations and staff. Manage and promote select aspects of the business; including but not limited to sales, merchandising, receiving new products into the POS system, appraising used sporting goods, loss prevention, training and managing sales staff. With strong leadership, promote a high-level of customer satisfaction and continually strive for innovative solutions and alternatives in bettering the business.
Essential Functions of the Retail Store Manager Position:
- Meet or exceed financial goals, focusing on sales and usedinventory.
- Drive sales through the development of non-supervisory staff; focusing on coaching, training, and role modeling desired behaviors.
- Used goods acquisition. We train and support with appraisal software. Enforce positive customer recycling and used acquisition experiences.
- Promote and role model a culture of positive customer service to everyone, every day.
- Train, engage and lead staff.
- Maintain merchandise and visual presentation standards, daily.
- Monitor and maintain location's ecommerce and social media platforms.
- Implement individual development plans for sales staff, set productivity and performance standards for each associate. Complete and deliver associate performance evaluations in a timely manner. Create and maintain an environment of consistent and continuous coaching.
- Ensure inventory accuracy within acceptable standards, supporting accurate receiving, counts, and documentation.
- Receive merchandise and ticket in a timely manner. If needed, follow the appropriate back stocking recommendations.
- Maintain cashiering standards and reconcile variances. Reconcile material discrepancies or investigate and documentandcorrectvariances.
- Reports to store senior manager and area manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications of the Retail Store Manager Position:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3 years prior staff management and demonstrated staff supervisory experience.
- 4 years retail sales experience, preferably in similar merchandise lines.
- Strong leadership, organizational skills, and time management skills are critical.
- Proven customer service skills and strong interpersonal communication skills required.
- Sales and goal oriented.
- Must be computer literate.
Physical Requirements for the Retail Store Manager Position:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
- Lifting up to 30 lbs. without assistance. May involve heavier lifting or movingwith assistance of team member or cart/dolly.
- Bending, rotating, and reaching customary to a retail environment; including receiving, pricing, and stocking/back stocking merchandise.
- Exposure to typical retail environment conditions and noise levels.
- Able to operate a computerized sales terminal.
Work Location: One location. Training typically includes a second location.
