We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Tai Chi Instructor to lead twice-weekly classes designed to improve residents' balance, flexibility, and mental well-being in a supportive, low-impact environment.
Position Summary:
The Tai Chi Instructor will be responsible for planning and conducting engaging, safe, and age-appropriate Tai Chi sessions for older adults. The ideal candidate is patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about sharing the physical and mental benefits of Tai Chi with a senior audience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Tai Chi classes twice a week, tailored to meet the needs and abilities of older adults.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe class environment.
- Modify movements and techniques to accommodate varying levels of mobility and fitness.
- Encourage resident participation and foster a sense of community and mindfulness.
- Provide brief explanations of Tai Chi principles and benefits to enhance participants' understanding and engagement.
- Monitor class participation and adjust instruction accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Certification or formal training in Tai Chi instruction.
- Previous experience teaching older adults or in a senior living or wellness setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
