What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher (Summer Program) position at Play Pals Daycare?
Purpose of Role: The Teacher Assistant for Play Pals Daycare is passionate about providing a warm, safe and nurturing environment for children from the age of 6-12 years old. They are concerned with ensuring that children receive abundant attention as an extension of the care received from their primary caregivers.
Classification: Part Time (Seasonal)
Reports To: School-Age Lead Teacher
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist Teachers with support of children and duties
- Utilize age-appropriate developmental materials for the classroom
- Assist curriculum implementation in a manner that supports creativity and learning
- Follow Ohio state rules and regulations with regards to classroom operations
- Supervise the classroom when the teacher is out of the room, keeping the teacher informed of any relevant incidents, needs or issues.
- Help with general housekeeping tasks and meal/snack preparation and clean up
Additional Responsibilities:
- File incident reports as needed
- Attend training and development opportunities
Skills and Attributes:
- Minimum High School certificate or GED completion
- Active First Aid and CPR certification
- Nurturing: Love of working with children
- Strong observation skills and developed intuition
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly area
- Abundance of patience and self control
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time with an ability to adapt as required
- Self motivated and personally driven
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality
- Clear communication to children and adults, including conflict resolution skills

Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour
