This Human Resources role is responsible for tracking compliance with HR procedures, tracking changes in federal, state and local employment laws, helping update and distribute the Employee Handbook as needed, various employee communications including newsletters, maintaining current and researching new benefit plans, and helping to structure pay rates and develop pay policies. This position requires a person with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, energy and creativity. Play-Well is a team-based, supportive environment in which all employees are actively engaged in promoting the company vision and development. This position works alongside another Human Resources specialist with differing but complementary duties related to on-boarding, developing employment documents and processes, and terminations. This description may not cover all listed responsibilities, nor do the examples necessarily encompass all tasks performed.
Duties and Responsibilities
. Posts job openings to external sites like Handshake as needed; research effective recruitment techniques and opportunities like job fairs and provides them to managers.
· Updates minimum wage pay rates, verifies pay equity and offers improvements for pay policies.
· Helps to research manager training for best practice in HR procedures, assigns and tracks completion.
· Tracks manager and company compliance with HR procedures, provides compliance reports to upper management.
· Tracks changes in federal, state, and local employment laws using websites like SixFifty and attending Paycom or other webinars.
· Updates and distributes the Employee Handbook and Manager Sites pages as needed.
· Assigns employees performance evaluations seasonally and/or annually.
· Creates effective employee communication tools, prepares and distributes employee newsletters.
· Maintains, researches, and proposes new employee benefit plans as needed.

· Ability to work well in a team at a small office setting.
· Reliable transportation; ability to commute to work in San Anselmo, CA.
· Must pass all background test as a condition of employment.
