About Us
At Play, we're building the voice of intelligence.
We are building a platform for Conversational AI Voice Agents to enable every business, developer, or tinkerer to easily build agents and use them to serve their customers; this will unlock massive value for the world and a lot of happiness for consumers using these delightful agents.
We joined YC last year in the YC W23 batch. Since then, we have raised $20m in seed funding and have seen significant growth in users and revenue (20x the last two years).
We care deeply about doing excellent work - and we're looking for like minded individuals to join our product engineering team.
What Are We Looking For?
We believe that credentials, years of experience, and familiarity with various tech stacks pale in comparison to a deep, internal drive to create delightful products. If you don't (yet) know how the app router in Next.js works - that's fine. But if you're okay leaving a small UI bug in production over a weekend - please don't apply.
Our non-negotiable core values are :
- Extreme passion for building excellent products. Ideally you've built impressive stuff in your free time as well.
- Capacity to ship end-to-end features quickly : we jump at the opportunity to take charge of a core feature and build it out in a week. We use TypeScript, Nextjs, React, Tailwind CSS, Firebase, and Node.js.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity : we trust each other to make high quality product and engineering decisions independently.
- Desire / ability to work out of our HQ in Palo Alto
