Role Overview
We are seeking a first Social Media Manager to create, manage, and strategize social media content across digital platforms as well as develop a daily newsletter. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of media consumption trends, digital storytelling, and platform-specific content optimization. The ideal candidate also loves the sports, media, and technology industries, and is engaged with the ways each of them is changing today. This is a remote position, with the option of working in our New York office.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Social Media Management
- Make photo and video content for social media channels (YouTube, Instagram, X, TikTok, etc.) that engage with major news stories in our industries.
- Draft and distribute a daily newsletter recapping the headlines in sports, media, and technology for the Playbook community.
- Manage relationships with platform partners (Meta, Google, X, TikTok, etc.).
Digital Strategy & Growth
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns with Playbook’s brand, content, and business objectives.
- Own audience growth, engagement, and retention across digital channels, including the website, social media, newsletters, and emerging platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2 years of experience in digital media, content creation and strategy, and audience development, ideally in sports, entertainment, or business media.
- Professional experience with graphic design, video editing, and other creative software (e.g., Canva) and experience with content management systems (e.g., Hootsuite Enterprise)
- Proven track record of making creative social media content across platforms that drives digital audience growth.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
Compensation
The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000-$120,000. Total compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, and location. Playbook Media provides full health benefits.

Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
