We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director, Traffic Support Services to assist team members with ensuring that we provide best-in-class parking experience to all guests attending Phoenix Suns games, Phoenix Mercury games, Arizona Diamondback games, shows, and other ticketed events.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the Traffic Support Services department, daily & event operations, including 24 FT and 70 PT event team members.
- Oversee all the aspects of the parking operations (both daily & event) for the:
- Arena Garage
- Jefferson Street Garage
- Chase Field Garage
- Player 15 Group owned & managed parking lots
- Barricade Services
- Work with the Senior Director, Traffic Support Services, & VP, Event Services to develop department goals and objectives, the annual budget, and service metrics that focus on the organization’s goals.
- Act a facilitator, providing leadership and direction to the Traffic Support Department. Set the example, delivering exemplary service by creating an upbeat, exciting atmosphere for FT and PT team members, building stakeholders, partners, and guests.
- Work closely with People & Culture on team member engagement, rewards & recognition, policies, and procedures, and maintaining proper staffing levels.
- Work closely with the Event Operations teams at the arena, Player 15 Group HQ, & Chase Field.
- Ensure compliance with organizational & department policies and procedures.
- Manage multiple facilities, tasks, Team Members, and operational needs to ensure the operational objectives are being met.
- Complete monthly operational reports for the Arena, Jefferson Street Garage & Chase Field Garage.
- Develop and oversee the training of managers, coordinators, team captains and parking attendants to ensure they are meeting job expectations.
- Review post-event reports and recaps to identify trends; offer guidance and solutions for guest experience and operational improvements.
- Assist managers, coordinators and team captains in handling customer complaints and operational issues.
- Monitor & manage effective revenue control procedures and actively pursue new business and methods to improve revenue streams.
- Develop & maintain budgets for each facility and monitor financial reports to ensure business goals are being met.

What We Need from Our Director, Traffic Support Services:
- Ability to project a friendly, approachable, and professional attitude always, interact well with fellow team members and the general public, and influence, negotiate and gain commitment at all organizational levels.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and listen to diverse populations, including strong verbal communication, written and presentation skills.
- Effective time management skills and ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment and/or frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.
- Understands how to manage information, balancing team member confidentiality with business needs; knows when to communicate information upward.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office suite, ABI, 24/7 Incident Management System, Suns app, revenue control systems, etc.
- Must have a basic knowledge of technology, including operating and troubleshooting radios, tablets, and parking devices.
- Ability to react appropriately in emergency and high stress situations and maintain order and ensure adherence to all safety and security policies.
- Ability to plan and organize work by recognizing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with revenue control equipment.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all staff levels
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Be able to maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet organizational needs.
Experience/ Education Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the parking industry or similar field.
- Understanding of financial statements/accounting, preparing & reporting budgets.
