About The Role
The ideal Internal Auditor will have 3 years of experience in the insurance/MGA sector. As an Internal Auditor with Players Health you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of our financial operations within the insurance brokerage and MGA sectors. You will be responsible for conducting thorough audits of underwriting cycles, intercompany transactions, and MGA agreements to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of the brokerage business and MGA underwriting cycles.
This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is available to work remotely or hybrid near one of our regional employee hubs (Minneapolis, MN or Dallas, TX), unless approved otherwise. Players Health is a remote-first distributed workforce. Travel may be required for team collaboration, training, and development. The Internal Auditor role has a compensation range of $90,000 - $120,000, depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities (are inclusive of but not limited to):
- Perform internal audits related to the underwriting cycle, ensuring compliance with underwriter guidelines.
- Conduct intercompany audits between Brokerage and MGA.
- Ensure data accuracy and reconciliation for intercompany placements.
- Review MGA agreements to ensure compliance with contractual agreements with third parties/carriers.
- Ensure adherence to risk premiums and other regulatory requirements.
- Build business and control processes in partnership with MGA and brokerage team.
- Establish workflow and control points, conducting audits to ensure adherence to these processes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and streamline processes to foster a solutions-oriented mindset
- Conduct internal audits and ensure proper handling of intercompany transactions.
- Identify, develop and implement solutions for intercompany placements in adherence to control methods and compliance.
- Partner with various departments to ensure a solid understanding of the brokerage and MGA business.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve business processes and controls.
Minimum Skills & Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in internal auditing within the insurance, brokerage, and MGA sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in auditing underwriting cycles, with a minimum of 2 completed audit projects in this area.
- Proven ability to ensure data accuracy and reconciliation, with a track record of achieving at least 95% accuracy in data audits.
- Experience in reviewing and ensuring compliance with MGA agreements, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in this area.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, evidenced by successfully identifying and resolving at least 3 major audit issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a history of effectively working with cross-functional teams on at least 2 major projects.

Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Experience in developing and implementing control processes.
- Familiarity with intercompany reconciliation, Brokerage and MGA audits.
- Ability to identify training opportunities and streamline processes.
- Strong understanding of risk premiums and regulatory requirements
- Thorough knowledge of insurance industry, or desire and ability to quickly learn and stay apprised
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability work in a remote work environment

- Ability to travel occasionally for team events, collaboration, engagement, conferences, or customer visits
