What are the responsibilities and job description for the Umpire position at Players Sport & Social Group?
Players Sport & Social Group (PSSG) is a leading organization in the community of Chicago, hosting and facilitating large scale adult recreational sports leagues and social events.
PSSG are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team of referees/umpires for adult Softball leagues. We aim to deliver Social Sport Competitions which offer a fun and safe environment for people to play sport; and we’re looking for experienced supervisors to help us make that happen.
The successful applicant will preferably exhibit the following traits:
- Reliability
- Sound communication skills
- Sound knowledge of rules for Softball/Baseball/Kickball
- Experience in umpiring Softball/Baseball/Kickball leagues
- Confidence in decision making in high pressure situations
- Enthusiastic attitude
- Officiate softball/kickball games by enforcing rules and ensuring fair play.
- Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and spectators to maintain a positive environment.
- Manage conflicts on the field with diplomacy and authority, ensuring a respectful atmosphere.
- Provide guidance and support to players, fostering their development and love for the game.
- Collaborate with other umpires to ensure consistent decision-making during games.
Applicants should live in the Chicago area and have adequate transport to attend evening shifts at various venues around the city.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
