Job Summary
Playmates Preschools & Child Development Centers of Huntington and Ceredo are seeking a caring, compassionate and energetic Full-Time Teacher's Assistant to support classroom activities, ensure a safe environment, and promote positive development for children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and be able to assist teachers in providing engaging and nurturing learning experiences. They will assist in the implementation of curriculum activities, provide individualized support to students, and contribute to the overall classroom management. This role is essential in helping students develop their literacy skills and engage with educational materials effectively.
Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in developing and implementing curriculum activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Provide support for students with autism and other special needs, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance and encouragement.
- Help facilitate literacy education by working with students on reading and writing exercises.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing materials and resources effectively.
- Communicate regularly with the lead teacher regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Support classroom management by helping to maintain discipline and a positive atmosphere among students.
- Engage with children during activities, fostering a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive educational experience for all students.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous.
- Familiarity with curriculum development principles is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics while providing individualized attention to students as needed.
- Dependable, patient, and nurturing attitude.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
