Job Overview:
PLAYOFFS SPORTS BAR & GRILL
We are currently looking for experienced Bar Cooks, Bartenders, and Servers. People capable of taking on multiple roles during a shift are highly encouraged to apply. Some shifts do not have a scheduled cook and for those shifts, the server/bartender would not split tips with the cook, but instead would be required to complete both tasks. Servers/Bartenders currently on staff report making much better tips than always having a cook to share the tips with.
We aim to improve the quality, service, and atmosphere here at Playoffs. To achieve this, we have recently renovated/refurbished the interior and added a patio. Next, we must build a friendly caring staff to ensure customers receive quality and timely service. We wish for anyone interested that they would stop at the location and fill out an application. A manager may be onsite for an open interview.
We are located at Inkster & Goddard in Romulus, MI. We will have printed applications available on-site for walk-ins interested. We welcome bar-experienced individuals to stop in and apply!
We used Toast Point-of-Sale (POS)
Server tips are pooled.
Multiple shifts are available, but primarily need people for nights.

Hours of kitchen operation are from 10am-1AM.

Experience:
- Relevant: 1 year (Preferred)
- Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)
Duties:
- Prepare and serve beverages, including alcoholic drinks, to customers following standard recipes
- Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system efficiently
- Upsell additional products when appropriate
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
Experience:
- Prior experience in bartending or a related role is preferred
- Knowledge of retail math for handling transactions accurately
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with patrons effectively
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and safety standards
- Understanding of the food industry and beverage trends
- Experience working in restaurants, banquets, or sales environments is a plus
- Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Knowledge of brewing techniques is an advantage
