Summary:
Develops unique and custom products to meet business objectives required to develop world class products that deliver exceptional value to both customers and the children who use the product. Required to engineer custom products after conceptual design through production as part of a cross-functional Custom Product Development Team (made up of product designers, product engineers, draftspersons, project management and other personnel as needed). This entails all steps of the engineering process from initial concept to market release including concept and detailed engineering, support of manufacturing introduction and approval, creating engineering support documentation i.e. specifications, assembly instructions, etc. Utilizing SolidWorks to prepare models, drawings, instructions, and other documentation as needed to support Custom Product Development initiatives, must take ownership of the assigned projects and complete them in an expedient and professional manner.
Compensation:
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications, aligning with industry standards. The hourly/salary range for Lewisburg, PA, is also based upon geographical market standards for the industry and position in those areas.
There is a possibility of a bonus(es) based on individual performance and merit to be paid at the sole discretion of the company, but bonus(es) are not guaranteed unless outlined in writing in the offer letter extended to the candidate selected for the position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares rough sketches and models of custom products based on customer requests or custom designers.
Prepares final models and drawings.
Identifies and verifies specifications.
Modifies drawings.
Resolves discrepancies.
Executes projects.
Prepares and presents engineering models to the approval teams in custom design, custom engineering, and manufacturing.
- Report writing and record keeping as required by ISO procedures, legal department and project management.
- Maintains accurate document filing system.
Addresses design related concerns with custom design, engineering, and customer, as needed.
Routine clerical work and paper work for all patent applications.
Education, Experience, and Requirements:
A.S. degree in Engineering or 5 years equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in Product Development Engineering, preferably child development products.
- Knowledge in global playground safety guidelines and standard, CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) certification.
Proficient use of SolidWorks to prepare models, drawings, instructions, and other documentation as needed to support Product Development.
Prefer experience in rotational molding technology sand casting, and steel fabrication.
Some travel may be required (installation troubleshooting, trade show attendance, etc.)
Work Environment:
Normal office environment or may be exposed to noise if working in a production area.
- Office setting with personal work cubicles.
- An open working environment where ideas are shared and valued.
- Professional training and development are encouraged.
- Open communication is necessary with teammates, independent sales agencies worldwide and other departments.
- Collaboration with team managers and project leaders throughout the company to achieve mutual goals is critical.
Personal protective equipment required when entering production shop area.
