Position Overview:
Machine Operators will operate multiple types of manufacturing machines in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work processes, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment. The position will require rotating to other machinery within the department to complete production requirements needed to fulfill customer needs.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate several types of manufacturing machines, safely and efficiently, including but not limited to, drill press, die-form press, brake press, punch press, folding machine, turret punch, tube and pipe benders, roll forming machines, and saws.
- Complete daily production reports, as required.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
- Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
- Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts.
- Read detailed blueprints and instructions.
- Perform equipment change-overs and/or die changes.
- Housekeeping and sanitation of areas.
Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- One to three years manufacturing experience preferred.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to read and interpret basic documents, safety rules and other correspondence.
- Ability to count and ability to measure equipment using a tape measure.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Attendance Requirement:
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such a level as is determined in the company’s employee handbook. Must be available and willing to work overtime hours as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs. Working Conditions:
May be exposed to noise if working in or around a production area. Schedule is based on shift and production need. Consistently required to stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear. Physical demands include frequent lifting and/or carrying 10 – 100 lbs. and pushing or pulling 25 – 100 lbs.
Position Location:
Position is onsite and not remote eligible.
Compensation:
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications, aligning with industry standards. The salary range for Monett, MO is also based upon geographical market standards for the industry and position in those areas.
