What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager position at PLAYSTUDIOS?
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join the Corporate Finance and Accounting Department. This position will primarily oversee US and Canada tax compliance obligations, including direct (federal, state, and provincial) & indirect taxes. This position will also assist in the preparation and/or review of the Company’s tax provisions prepared in accordance with ASC 740 on a quarterly basis.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform tax analysis on operational issues as needed (e.g. tax implications on player events, stock option reporting, payroll tax issues, etc.)
- Guide the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions
- Coordinate with advisors to ensure timely review and delivery of tax provisions to external auditors
- Support internal and external auditors through their quarterly reviews and annual audits of our tax provisions and procedures
- Maintain ongoing review of Company tax positions to ensure compliance with tax laws and ASC 740
- Ensure SOX compliance over tax reporting areas
- Guide the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns
- Coordinate with advisors to ensure timely review and filing of federal and state tax returns
- Review international tax filings and coordinate with advisors to ensure timely filings
- Manage ongoing and future tax audits as well as timely respond to agency notices received
- Stay up-to-date with tax legislation changes and ensure the company’s compliance with all laws and regulations
- Guide the preparation and ensure various information returns are timely filed (e.g. FBARs, 1099s, withholding returns, etc.)
- Guide and ensure timely filing of indirect tax returns (e.g. sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, franchise tax returns)
- Mentor direct reports in their professional development and technical growth
- 6-10 years of progressive income tax experience
- Expert in ASC 740
- Federal and state income and non-income tax compliance
- International tax (GILTI, FDII, and foreign jurisdiction tax compliance)
