Plaza College is seeking candidates for the Medical Director of its developing Physician Assistant Studies Program at its Forest Hills, NY campus.    


The Medical Director reports directly to the Program Director and will assume responsibility for ensuring that the program’s competencies and curriculum meet or exceed clinical practice standards.  Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the planning, developing, implementing, and assessing the program curriculum, policies, and procedures; working collaboratively with clinical partners to ensure ample and optimum clinical learning experiences for students; student advising and monitoring student progress and retention throughout the program; participating in accreditation activities; faculty development and coordination of activities; student recruitment and applicant selection; and participation in college and program-level committees.  The Medical Director will also hold a teaching load in the didactic and clinical phases of the program.   


This is a part-time (approx. 20-25 hours per week), year-round appointment and all applicants must be available to report in person at the Plaza College campus in Forest Hills, Queens. 


Qualifications


Applicants must be a graduate of a US board-approved medical school with the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with current medical license.  Applicants must also maintain current ABMS or AOA board certification in a medical specialty.


A  minimum of five (5) years of professional clinical practice and three (3) years of teaching experience preferred.
