PROGRAM SUMMARY Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services, Inc. (Plaza) is a comprehensive early childhood education program with a focus on school readiness for children zero to five years of age. Developmentally appropriate services are provided for children from low-income families, zero to five years of age. Plaza de la Raza currently serves over 700 children and their families. DEFINITION Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Educational Services and Center Operations, this position assists and/or develops and updates classroom programs and procedures for instructional outcomes, curriculum implementation, child assessment and cultural and linguistic responsiveness. This position provides staff with an assessment to identify strengths, areas of needed support and which staff would benefit from intensive coaching through opportunities to be observed and receive feedback and modeling of effective teaching practices related to program performance goals. If intensive coaching is needed this position provides coaching that aligns with the program’s school readiness goals, curricula, and other approaches to professional development providing ongoing communication between the coach, the Assistant Director of Educational Services and the Executive Director. Assessments will include clearly articulated goals informed by the program’s goals, and a process for achieving the identified goals. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED General direction and supervision is provided by the Assistant Director of Educational Services. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with agency staff, children, parents, and outside agencies. • Implements the Mentor Coach Program plan and procedures. • Interprets and applies program policies, procedures, and regulations. • Administers the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) and analyzes data to measure improvement of teaching strategies to ensure positive child MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited 4 year college or university. A current California Child Development Master Teacher Permit or higher. Six semester units of six infant and toddler development; 3 units of which may be completed in the first 12 months of employment. Experience Four years’ experience in a classroom or group setting with young children. Maintain Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) reliability in the relevant age range. Trained in Practice-Based Coaching and using assessment data to deliver coaching and professional development strategies aligned with performance goals. CLASS reliability certification and Practice-Based Coaching training may be completed in the first 12 months of employment. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS • Successful completion of an initial health examination, performed by or under the supervision of a physician to determine, at a minimum, that the prospective employee can perform requirements of the job description’s physical requirements. • Proof of the absence of Tuberculosis, from a physician that the prospective employee is cleared to work with children and families • Documentation of current immunizations against Influenza, Mumps, Measles, & Rubella (MMR) and Pertussis (TDAP).

Salary : $31 - $38
