POSITION SUMMARY: The Gourmet Food Server is responsible for creating the overall guest experience, taking food/beverage orders, carrying out wine/beverage service, performing table maintenance, completing side work, maintaining health code standards, and providing excellent customer service for our guests in accordance with all PlayLV’s Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Top Job Duties:
- Takes initial food and/or beverage order within five minutes of being seated.
- Greets and makes welcome each guest seated in assigned station
- Suggests items to guests based on expressed guest preferences.
- Delivers prepared food to the appropriate guest within two minutes of completed production of order.
- Correctly enters food and beverage orders into the POS system to ensure accurate preparation of product.
- Other Specific Job Functions:
- Maintain current and accurate information regarding menu (i.e. preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients and plate presentation).
- Up-sells appetizers, beverages, desserts in accordance with restaurant service standards.
Other Specific Job Functions:
- Returns to table within three minutes of order delivery to ascertain guest level of satisfaction.
- Resolves service issues according to the service recovery policies.
- Itemizes totals and presents check for payment to correct customers.
- Thanks customers, invites them back, wishes them luck and makes it easy for them to get back in play
- Assists bus persons, as necessary, in bussing, cleaning and setting tables.
- Wipes counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station.
- Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.
- Deep cleans restaurant equipment (tables, chairs, booths, soda and juice dispensers, coffee machines) as scheduled or required.
- Operates and maintains equipment as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
- Completes assigned side work as directed. Provides personalized service and uses guests’ names and preferences.
- Recognizes VIP players and ensures they receive the appropriate service.
- Knows and promotes current casino events and programs and can give directions to all casino areas.
- Behave in a positive, professional manner that reflects Play LV practices.
- Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards pursuant to Play LV policies.
- Display knowledge of all emergency procedures.
- Inform managers on duty of any Team Member of guest opportunities.
- Greet and seat guest pleasantly, quickly and efficiently in a professional manner.
- Ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the restaurant.
- Have knowledge of all service Team Member responsibilities, including but not limited to the food servers, bus persons and runners.
- Have detailed knowledge of the facility and its amenities.
- Have a complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items including their preparation, ingredients, cooking methods, portions and prices.
- Be aware of activities in dining room, including but not limited the service standards being used, the bussing of tables, station assignments, special functions, the presence of executives, and the availability or unavailability of particular items.
- Remove debris (napkins, straws etc.) from the floors necessary.
- Monitor door at all times to ensure prompt seating of guest.
- Responsible for cleanliness of host/hostess stand floors, menus, and signage and special boards. Have knowledge of all methods of check tendering (cash, comp, coupon, credit cards, gift certificates ETC.)
RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL MANAGEMENT
- Recognize and acknowledge when Guests are becoming intoxicated and/or are intoxicated
- Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive Guests and promptly bring to a Manager’s attention
- Refuse further service of alcohol to intoxicated Guests in a courteous and safety-minded manner
- Responsible for accurately checking Guest identification
- Comply with all safety and health department procedures as well as Company and/or departmental policies/procedures
- Comply with all state and federal liquor laws

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required
- At least 2 year of previous experience working in a similar resort setting
- At least 1 year of previous Food and Beverage experience in a fast-paced environment with food service experience
- General knowledge of wine and spirits
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Must possess excellent customer service/communication skills
- Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
- Must be able to maintain a neat, professional, well-groomed appearance and uphold company appearance/dress standards
- Be able to stand on their feet for extended hours at a time
- Ability to meet company's production and quality standards
- Work as a team, assisting all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.
- Create and maintain a sense of urgency
- Ability to create and maintain service rapport through the Corporate philosophy

Preferred:
