Wage: $22.50-24.50/hour

Supervises: Gymnastics Instructors
We are looking for an energetic and passionate Group Fitness Instructor to join our team at the Pleasant Grove Rec Center. As a Group Fitness Instructor, you will lead and motivate individuals in a variety of fitness classes, helping them to achieve their fitness goals in a fun and safe environment. You will create dynamic, challenging, and engaging workouts, fostering a positive community atmosphere for all participants.
Responsibilities:
- Lead group fitness classes in accordance with pre-established programs (e.g., HIIT, Zumba, Yoga, Spin, etc.).
- Demonstrate exercises and techniques, ensuring that all participants can follow along and perform exercises safely.
- Provide modifications for exercises based on participants' fitness levels and abilities.
- Build and maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the fitness area before, during, and after classes.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and continuing education sessions to stay current with fitness trends and certifications.
- Communicate effectively with participants about class expectations, changes, and any issues that arise.
- Promote upcoming classes, programs, and events offered by the recreation center.
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.
Qualifications:
- Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM, or other industry-recognized certifications for group fitness instruction).
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment).
- Experience in leading group fitness classes preferred (but not required for the right candidate).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate diverse groups of participants.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and able to create an enjoyable class environment.
- Knowledge of fitness principles, injury prevention, and safe exercise techniques.
- Ability to adapt workouts to suit various fitness levels and needs.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Specialized certifications (e.g., cycling, yoga, pilates, etc.).
- Previous experience working in a recreation center or fitness environment.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and kinesiology.
