Position Title: Pickleball League & Tournament Supervisor
Reports To: Sports Program Coordinator
Wage: $15-$18/hour
Supervises: Pickleball Leagues and Tournaments
Job Overview
We are hiring a Pickleball League & Tournament Supervisor to oversee games and tournaments throughout the year. This position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and an advanced knowledge of pickleball rules. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
The first required event is the Strawberry Days Tournament on June 13-14, where the supervisor must be present on-site both days to manage and run the tournament.
Work Schedule
- Leagues: April-May and August-September
- Tournaments: June 13-14 (Strawberry Days), October 24-25 and December 19-20
- Hours vary based on the season and league schedules, but you need to be able to commit to working tournament dates
Primary Responsibilities
- Be on-site and ready 30 minutes before game time
- Ensure games stay on schedule
- Provide support to players, spectators, and officials
- Set up, take down, and clean facilities
- Submit staff hours as needed
- Substitute for other recreation programs when requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18
- Basic/advanced understanding of pickleball rules
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Excellent public relations and customer service skills
- Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure
- Comfortable working with all ages
- Able to follow safety procedures and protocols
- Capable of lifting 15-50 lbs and standing for extended periods
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience running a pickleball/ sports tournament is preferred but not required
