School Nurse Position
187 Workday Calendar - 7.5 hours/day
Job Summary
A full-time Registered Nurse is needed for the Pleasant Grove Independent School District. The nurse must be registered with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
Responsibilities
- Operate within guidelines set by the Texas Education Agency, local school board, and Superintendent.
- Maintain current knowledge and skills in nursing practice.
- Supervise nurse aides at high school and elementary campuses based on health care needs.
- Keep accurate health records for the district.
- Procure necessary health care materials, equipment, and personnel.
- Administer screenings as required by the district.
- Dispense medication according to school board policy.
- Assist health and science teachers as a resource person.
- Interact professionally with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Maintain confidentiality of instructional personnel and administration.
- Participate in staff development and other professional duties.
- Perform assigned tasks cooperatively.
Requirements
This position requires a Registered Nurse registered with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
The nurse will be employed under the Minimum Foundation Program of the State of Texas and will report directly to building principals and through them to the Superintendent of Schools.
