Job Description: To oversee the administrative tasks of the church and assist the ministerial staff to implement programs and activities for the church.
Primary Responsibilities: manage all aspects of the church office, including but not limited to:
Payroll:
o Ensure all IRS and GA Dept. of Revenue withholdings have been deducted from payroll and payments issued to the appropriate agencies.
o All Federal 941 withholdings must be paid at the proper time according to the current IRS schedule
o Assist church treasurer in issuing and tracking payroll to employees on a bi-monthly basis.
Receipting and posting all deposits. All deposits are to be made in timely manner
Completing tax reports
Maintain accounts payable and receivable. All payments are to be made in a timely manner. Ensure all appropriate signatures are on checks.
Reconcile checking account and make a report to minister, treasurer, and finance committee.
Filing end of the year reports, giving statements, coordinating W2s and 1099s
Make records available for audit up to one time per year.
Keep and maintain a petty cash log with receipts attached for miscellaneous expenses.
Statement of condition/balance sheet to be submitted to minister and finance chair each month.
Coordinate all publications on a timely basis, including a weekly Newsletters/Bulletin and bulletins for special services, i.e. funerals, special worship services, etc.
All church correspondences and e-mails
Writing and issuing purchase orders; includes office and church supplies and Wednesday night meal orders.
Report directly to minister and HR committee. All other duties assigned by minister and HR committee.
Requirements:
Approximately 28-32 hours per week
Office hours are 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Thursday with US holidays off in coordination with the senior pastor.
Must be a Christian with a sound moral character
Must be confident, responsible, reliable, and able to be on time
Ability to be flexible and teachable.
Ability to communicate with all groups in the scope of the ministry of the church.
Compensation: Salary and vacation to be negotiated at time of employment.
