JOB DESCRIPTION
Educational Aide
This position will provide a full-time Educational Aide for Pleasant Grove Independent School District.
This employee must:
1) be a high school graduate or hold a GED certificate;
2) have two years of experience as an Educational Aide; or
a minimum of 15 semester hours of college credit with some emphasis on child
growth and development or similar background; or
have demonstrated proficiency in a specialized skill area as determined by the
local school district;
3) have experience related to working with students or parents as approved by the
employing Superintendent; and
4) be recommended by the employing Superintendent.
The aide shall have knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes of the following nature: ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to communicate and work with students, teachers, school administrators and the public; to maintain records; to maintain effective working relationship with other auxiliary personnel, teachers, school administrators, and the public; and have a positive and cooperative attitude toward the duties of the aide, the school, the staff, and the students.

Pay scale and classification will not be less than the minimum compensation plan for Pleasant Grove Independent School District. _______________ will be under the direction of building principals and the Superintendent of Schools.
Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
The employee shall:
1) serve as instructional aide.
2) assist teacher in the instructional process.
3) work with the administration and carry out such duties and responsibilities as
policies would demand in relation to students, teachers, school administrators,
and the public.

4) carry out such duties and responsibilities as clerical operations; maintaining
records; operating copy machines; and other similar tasks.
5) participate in staff development as assigned.
6) respect the confidence of instructional personnel and the administration.
7) assist the teacher in instructional media preparation and usage.
8) assist the teacher in preparing classroom materials to be sent home with
students.
9) grade papers, record grades, and file papers.
