Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to provide clerical duties and support for the church members and staff of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
As Secretary, you will assume the duty to optimize workflow procedures in the office.
You will be the point of reference for all queries, requests or issues and will be an integral part of the company’s workforce.
Responsibilities
- Answering phones, and redirecting them when necessary
- Greet visitors, and act as the first point of contact for church members and vendors
- Manage the daily/weekly/monthly agenda, arrange new meetings, prepare meeting materials, and taking minutes.
- Prepare and disseminate correspondence, memos, and forms
- File and update contact information of members, suppliers, and external partners
- Providing support to officers and staff on various projects and tasks.
- Processing regular tithe/giving statements or reports weekly, quarterly, and annually
- Maintain a filing system
- Conduct periodic inventory of office supplies
Other Responsibilities: Depending on the specific role, a secretary might also handle tasks like preparing presentations, conducting research, or managing social media.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: are essential for effective interaction with church members and vendors.
- Possess expertise in Microsoft Office 365 to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint: and other relevant software programs such as Adobe, Canva is beneficial to newsletters, programs, booklets and other church materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: are needed for composing emails, memos, and reports.
- Attention to detail: and the ability to maintain confidentiality are important for handling sensitive information.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 Years as a Secretary or Administrative Assistant
- High school diploma
- Minimum Typing - 65 WPM with Accuracy a
- Familiarity with office organization and optimization techniques
- A high degree of multi-tasking and time management capability
- Integrity and professionalism
- Able to work independently
Previous Church experience a plus (Not required)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.62 - $15.25 per hour
