The Pleasant Hill R-III School Distict is currently seeking applicants for the position of :
Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
for the 2025-2026 School Year
Early Childhood Special Education is done for the purpose / s of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for developing student's success in early communication, social and emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, and pre-academics; supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and / or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional programs and student progress.
Essential Functions
- Administers developmental screenings, formal assessments, observations, etc for the purpose of assessing student competency levels, summarizing results, determining eligibility and / or developing IEP's.
- Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and / or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to parents / guardians and administration.
- Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, Parents as Teachers, First Steps, daycare providers, and parents for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes, achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan.
- Develops and implements behavior plans for the purpose of a safe school environment.
- Develops and maintains accurate, professional, confidential and non-confidential student records for the purpose of documenting student progress and ensuring compliance with district, state and federal requirements.
- Directs special education paraprofessionals, student teachers, volunteers and / or student workers for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students.
- Instructs students for the purpose of improving success in pre academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills.
- Monitors students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom, playground, field trips, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Monitors and assesses student progress toward objectives, expectations, and / or goals for the purpose of gaining information to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.
- Participates in a variety of meetings and district professional workshops for the purpose of conveying and / or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. IEP, evaluations, notices, grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress, data collection and meeting mandated requirements.
- Reports incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) for the
purpose of maintaining personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and

This job reports to Building Principal
Experience Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
Educations Bachelor's degree in job-related area.
Starting Base Salary : $40,500 with consideration for education and experience
