Summary
The primary purpose of the Wound Care Nurse is to provide primary skin care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of the residents’ attending physicians, the Director of Nursing Services, or the Medical Director of the facility, with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin disorders.

Education & Experience
- Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Must have, as a minimum, 1 year(s) clinical experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related healthcare facility as Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- Must possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, and aseptic technique to include universal precautions
- Wound Care Certification preferred
- At least one year experience in wound care required
