Essential Duties:
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and check them in for their appointments.
- Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing patient inquiries or directing them to the appropriate staff.
- Check office email, text messages and voice mail, responding in a timely manner.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, rescheduling any appointments as requested.
- Check patients out, collecting any patient balances same day and scheduling follow-up, treatment and recare appointments as necessary.
- Maintain and update patient records with accurate and current information.
- Process patient information and verify insurance coverage.
- Handle billing and payment processing, including co-payments and outstanding balances.
- Prepare and manage patient paperwork, including consent forms and medical histories.
- Prepare route slips for upcoming appointments.
- Manage correspondence, ensuring that doctors receive necessary correspondence promptly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure timely patient flow and efficient scheduling.
- Manage office supplies and inventory, ordering as needed to keep the office running smoothly.
- Assist patients with insurance claims and explain benefits and coverage.
- Process insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
- Handle patient accounts and manage billing inquiries.
- Documents insurance information on the patients chart for quick reference.
- Determines insurance eligibility, limitations and payment estimates necessary to facilitate financial arrangements.
- Provide a high level of customer service to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Address and resolve any patient complaints or issues in a professional manner.
- Maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere in the office.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
