Responsibilities
- Perform licensed hygiene procedures as directed by the dentist
- Educate patients about oral hygiene, health, disease, and procedures offered
- Verify and document patient health history
- Expose and evaluate diagnostic x-rays
- Take and record blood pressure
- Provide adult and child prophylaxis
- Administer non-surgical periodontal therapy
- Co-assess possible restorative treatments with the doctor
Requirements
- Dental hygiene certification from an accredited dental hygiene school
- Annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control training
- Experience with dental software
