Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to appropriately assess and evaluate students in order to determine eligibility for special education services as well as students’ strengths and needs;
  • knowledge of and adherence to legal policies and procedures within local, state, and federal policies governing special education, including Article 7 and IDEA;
  • knowledge of academic, social/emotional, and behavioral techniques and interventions, including FBAs and BIPs;
  • ability to plan and lead small-group or individual student interventions targeting social-emotional skills;
  • knowledge of MTSS procedures, including data analysis, progress monitoring, goal setting, and intervention selection and evaluation;
  • excellent written and oral communication skills, as applied to written evaluation reports, electronic communication, and other paperwork, as well as collaborative interactions with school personnel, families, students, and community agencies;
  • and knowledge of and adherence to professional and ethical standards of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the American Psychological Association (APA). 

 

Education: Master’s degree (M.S. or M.A.) plus 30 hours, Ed.S. in School Psychology, or Ph.D., Ed.D., or Psy.D. in School Psychology. Training must allow candidate to be licensed as a school psychologist by the Indiana Department of Education.

 

Experience: As school psychologists in Zionsville Community Schools are directly involved in MTSS and student intervention in their assigned building, experience in leading or participating in MTSS meetings, as well as planning and leading small-group or individual student skill instruction/intervention is preferred.

 

Certificate/License: Valid license in School Psychology by the Indiana Department of Education. Applicants with independent licensure by the Indiana State Psychology Board will be considered, though if hired, must obtain licensure as a school psychologist by the Indiana Department of Education.
