Job Summary:
Pleasantville Animal Hospital has been serving Pleasantville, Westchester County and the surrounding area for over 40 years. We are a full service A.A.H.A certified hospital caring for all furred, feathered and scaly pets’ needs. Our services include wellness and preventive medicine, exotic animal medicine and surgery, general and orthopedic surgery, laparoscopic procedures for domestic and exotic pets, bee and apiary medicine, in-house comprehensive laboratory diagnostics, dentistry, ultrasonography, and on-site board-certified cardiology, internal medicine and orthopedic consults and procedures.

We are a growing practice looking for a kennel assistant to join our team. Looking for availabilty 3-4 days per week ~10hr days. **Weekend availability a must**
Expectations:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality care and support to our furry friends. This position requires a love for animals and the ability to handle them with care. If you have experience in veterinary care, or animal handling, we encourage you to apply.
- Previous experience in animal care is preferred but not required. Will train the right candidate.
- Ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and effectively with both staff and clients

Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the health and comfort of the animals as well as recognizing emergency situations and reporting any health concerns to appropriate personnel
- Maintaining facility cleanliness that included but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, garbage removal, laundry, dusting, and sanitizing hospital daily
- Documentation of all treatments and abnormal activity
- Taking dogs outside for bathroom and play time
- Feeding and providing fresh water to dogs and cats
- Washing dishes and bowls as well as cat litter boxes
- Washing & disinfecting kennels and cages
- Changing bedding when soiled and replace with clean bedding
- Comfortable with both dogs and cats
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $16.50 per hour
