What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Member position at Plenty of Posies?
Plenty of Posies flower farm is looking for a part time field crew member for the 2025 season. We have 4 acres in cut flower production and we sell at the Ithaca Farmers Market, CSA shares and for weddings and events in the Finger Lakes. We are looking for someone to help with all aspects of flower production.
Applicant should be:
Dependable and Hardworking
Weatherproof- we work outside in most weather ( with popsicle breaks in hot weather and tea breaks when it's chilly)
Physically able - The ability to carry up to 50 pounds, walk and crouch in the fields while planting and harvesting. We are on our feet and on the move most of the day
Follow directions
Team player- We work hard but we do it together
Energetic and Motivated- Farm life is fast and fun, every day can be different
Detail oriented
Positive attitude
Ability to use or learn to use a weedwacker and/ or push behind mower. Tractor experience a plus but not needed
Prior experience with flower or vegetable farming a bonus but not required
Other duties as assigned
What you'll do:
Be involved in all aspects of cut flower production from seeding and transplanting to weeding , harvesting and field prep and more.
