Safety Manager
Reports To: Chief Operations Officer
Work Hours: Full Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Branch: Manchester Distribution Center
Position Purpose:
Effectively handles the safety management coordination for the company. Ensure workers are in a safe working environment through safety compliance, training, monitoring, workers compensation, and creating/administering new safety programs as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Continuously identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Conducts employee safety training on applicable safety standards, maintains records including forklift training, safety review, video trainings, monthly safety bulletins, and branch one-on-one training.
- Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Conducts safety inspections/audits to assess compliance.
- Inspects vehicles, warehouse and safety equipment; recommends repair or replacements.
- Updates and implements internal safety standards and policies, as approved by COO.
- Reviews workplace accidents/incidents reported by employees
- Files workers comp cases and tracks through resolution; reviews incident reports, schedules medical evaluations.
- Investigate accidents; files necessary reports on time and accurately, follow up to completion.
- Truck GPS monitoring to ensure safe operations of drivers, follow up on system alerts with managers to address timely.
- Risk assessment reviews
- Branch safety evaluations
- Annual OSHA filings
- Handle PPE requests, stock and place orders as needed
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
Experience and Education:
- 2 year or 4 year degree along with or safety certification preferred
- Three to five years experience in safety management required
- Valid drivers license and DOT med card required
- Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to conduct trainings
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with current used hardware and software
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Qualifications
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
