Showroom Design Assistant
Reports To: VP Showroom & Design
Work Hours: Full Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Branch: Meriden mainly, location varies
Position Purpose:
Assist Showroom Design Manager in ensuring showrooms are in perfect condition and featuring up to date products on display. Be detailed, organized and able to multi-task.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring showrooms are in perfect condition, including lights, displays, missing parts, music and cleanliness. Identify areas that need attention and follow through for issue being resolved.
- Assist with identifying, removing and replacing obsolete and/or 'dead' products in showroom displays in a timely manner.
- Continually work with vendors on latest product updates and introductions.
- Create and/or keep up to date showroom inventory quote/file.
- Assist with creating products in system (edp), create quote and showroom sales ticket for all showroom displays.
- Assist with ordering showroom display products and follow thru on arrival at warehouses and delivery to showroom branch.
- Maintain and keep up-to-date display open orders.
- Be available to installer during installation as needed. May require travel. Provide specification books to installers as needed.
- Attend trade shows to keep up on industry trends.
- Participate in showroom events as needed.
- Valid drivers license and own transportation required.
- Ability to multi-task and be well organized
- Work on special projects as needed.
- Additional duties as requested
Experience, Education & Skills:
- Industry Showroom Receptionist or interior design experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; verbally and written
- Microsoft Office including Word, Excel.
- High School diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
