Position: Manager, Leaves Administrations
Target Salary: $135,000 - $175,000 with Bonus
Location: ATL, Boston, NY, DC, NJ, MD, VA, CT
Under the direct supervision of the Director, Talent Development, the Manager, Leaves Administration will be responsible for the management of all leaves of absence (U.S. and International), accommodation determinations, the worker’s compensation program and assisting the team with the administration of the U.S. benefit plans (including health and wellness, life and disability and multiple voluntary programs), as needed.
In this capacity, the Manager, Leaves Adminstration:
- Provide subject-matter expertise related to global leaves of absence, accommodations, workers’ compensation, ergonomics and compliance programs;
- Provide day-to-day leadership, oversight and coordination of the team’s responsibilities in accordance with the Firm's strategic goals, policies, and federal and state laws and regulations;
- Set overall priorities and initiatives for the Firm's leaves of absence, accommodations, workers’ compensation, ergonomics and compliance, including preparing and maintaining SOPs and project plans;
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws, including but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, DOL and IRS regulations in collaboration with Department Management, Directors of Business Operations and Talent Management department;
- Lead implementation of new programs, portal content updates, vendor RFPs and contract negotiations related to leaves of absence;
- Oversee payroll and benefit premium collection for individuals on leave;
- Prepare reports reflecting individuals currently on leave and any applicable budget relief for timekeepers;
- Ensure that all records related to leave of absence, workers’ comp, ergonomics and accommodations are complete and accurate;
- Review ergonomic assessments and recommendations for approval;
- Engage with the Firm's Chief Employment counsel regarding complex leave and accommodation issues;
- Develop, implement and monitor appropriate controls and metrics to identify and recommend improvements to current processes to ensure that overall performance is aligned with business objectives;
- Manage team performance, set goals and ensure the team’s continuous professional development;
Proficiencies:
- Expert knowledge of employment/leave of absence/ADA accommodation-related laws and practices;
- Expert knowledge of leaves of absence administration;
- Fundamental knowledge of benefit programs;
- Fundamental knowledge of general payroll concepts;
- Fundamental proficiency in Workday (preferred) or other human resource management systems;
- Fundamental proficiency in payroll systems (e.g.: ADP Vantage);
- Advanced knowledge of related regulations (i.e., COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, Section 125, qualifying family events, PPACA, ERISA, 401(k), 415).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Human Resources or other Business related field, industry certification (i.e. CEBS) a plus;
- At least 7 years of experience in leave of absence administration (required);
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience;
