Position Overview :
PLS is growing and is adding a new Database Architect to the team. This role will be based in Oak Brook, IL and will lead development and maintenance of enterprise-level database systems. We are seeking an experienced Database Architect who has knowledge and experience with multiple database technologies, development methodologies, and cloud database offerings. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge and experience with multiple data management concepts such as Big Data, ETL, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence, and the ability to apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
Job Responsibilities :
- Define a technical multi-release database roadmap that balances both business and architectural needs.
- Directly engage with developers to both design and performance tune queries and / or other database access technologies.
- Recommend and implement database changes based upon architectural review of existing implementations.

- Provide functional and technical support to ensure performance, operation, and stability of database systems.
- Directly engage with developers to both design and performance tune queries and / or other database access technologies.
- Respond to database related queries and issues in a timely fashion.
- Ensure the database is properly tested, and bugs are fixed appropriately.
- Optimize database for operational and performance efficiency.
- Responsible for database management, maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Work with programmers, QA team and security personnel to execute database projects according to customer requirements.
- Prepare documentation of all database procedures and guidelines.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze database performance and data accuracy.
- Function as the technical expert across multiple project assignments.
