The Position
The Solar Installer is a mission critical role within the organization. This individual is responsible for day to day field installations. The solar installation process is fast paced and ever changing. This person will coordinate with the electrical team and the roof team to ensure material, plans, and equipment are where they need to be at all times. In addition, this individual will spend parts of the day on the roof at each new installation aiding in the installation of mechanical hardware, racking components, wiring assemblies, and solar modules.
The Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation of job materials, crew members, and equipment
- Work with Crew to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of all company safety protocols
- Deploy with the installation crew to each installation
- Aid in the staging of materials
- Direct and perform array layout activities
- Install DC System components in accordance with plans and manufacturers’ specifications
- Aid in the completion of all closeout and commissioning tasks
- Additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- 1 year experience in the solar industry or NABCEP Entry Level Course Completion preferred
- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold) & Capable of lifting 50 lbs
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs and work on rooftops
- Excellent customer service & communication skills
- Must be a self-starter with a natural sense of urgency and motivation to succeed
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and the ability to pass a pre-employment background screening
