ABOUT
We are seeking an experienced Azure SAP Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's dynamic IT team. This role is ideal for an IT professional with extensive experience in Microsoft technologies and Azure infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in deploying, managing, and optimizing SAP NetWeaver workloads on Azure while ensuring best practices in security, automation, and monitoring. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Azure services and a proven ability to work with SAP on Azure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Azure Infrastructure Management:
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure Virtual Machines, Azure NetApp Files, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Storage (Blob, Files, and Managed Disks), and Azure Backup & Recovery solutions to support SAP workloads.
- Configure and optimize Azure networking services, including Azure VNETs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Application Gateway, and DNS configurations for SAP environments.
- Leverage Azure Migrate, SAP DMO with System Move, and Azure Site Recovery for seamless SAP migrations to Azure.
SAP on Azure Expertise:
- Provision, optimize, and manage SAP systems, particularly SAP NetWeaver, on Azure.
- Ensure integration of SAP systems with various Azure services, driving performance optimization and business continuity.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Implementation:
- Use Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep for automating the deployment of Azure infrastructure for SAP workloads.
DevOps & Automation:
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, and utilize DevOps practices for managing SAP systems on Azure.
- Automate system management tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripts to optimize Azure and SAP configurations.
Cloud Security & Compliance:
- Apply cloud security best practices, including the use of Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), role-based access control (RBAC), managed identities, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Security Center for SAP environments.
Monitoring & Performance Optimization:
- Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Azure Sentinel to track and optimize the health, performance, and security of SAP systems running on Azure.
Must-Have Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Technologies: Minimum of 10 years working with Microsoft technologies, with a focus on Azure infrastructure.
- Azure Infrastructure Expertise: At least 4 years of experience managing and deploying Azure Virtual Machines, Azure NetApp Files, Azure Storage, and related Azure services.
- SAP Expertise: Proven experience in deploying, managing, and optimizing SAP NetWeaver on Azure, including system provisioning, performance optimization, and integration with Azure services.
- SAP Migration: Hands-on experience migrating SAP environments to Azure using Azure Migrate, SAP DMO with System Move, and Azure Site Recovery.
- Networking Skills: Strong understanding of Azure networking (VNETs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Application Gateway, DNS configurations) for SAP systems.
- Infrastructure-as-Code: Proficiency in Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep for infrastructure automation and deployment.
- DevOps Practices: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring SAP systems on Azure.
- Security Knowledge: Solid understanding of Azure security best practices, including Azure AD (Entra ID), RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, and Azure Security Center for SAP environments.
- Scripting Skills: Strong automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to manage Azure infrastructure and SAP configurations.
- Azure Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Azure Sentinel for SAP system performance tracking.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure for SAP Workloads Specialty certifications are highly desirable.
