POSITION/DESCRIPTION: Bartender - prepare, mix and create craft cocktails in upscale, fine dining Finger Lakes restaurant.Our craft cocktail bartenders are specialists behind the bar! You will assist with making and developing craft cocktail syrups from scratch and will have some creative freedom to throw together specialty drinks! Bartenders will also need a strong wine knowledge of Finger Lakes wines and wineries.
JOB TYPE: SEASONAL-May through November
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bartending Experience: 2 years (preferred)
- TIPS Certified - NY Alcohol Training Awareness Program (preferred)
- Must be 21 years of age or older
RESTAURANT DESCRIPTION:
SAPALTA is one of the only full service restaurants serving both a locally sourced menu and a 100% Finger Lakes wine list. We are located in the heart of the Finger Lakes directly on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, midway between Watkins Glen and Geneva, NY. We pride ourselves on providing our guests with an upscale dining and boutique hotel experience along with excellent customer service. Our mission is to highlight the ingredients, foods and products produced in the Finger Lakes region placing our focus on our regionally sourced menu. The kitchen at SAPALTA is managed by Chef Brud Holland, who has over 30 years of experience working with a wide variety of farmers, artists and other “makers” in the region in an effort to provide a uniquely Finger Lakes style food and beverage experience.
JOB DUTIES:
- MUST be dedicated to preparing the highest quality beverages and interacting with our guests so they have memorable experiences
- MUST be committed to delivering top customer service
- MUST have integrity and be reliable, prompt and responsible
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized bar and restaurant area
- Team oriented and willing to train, educate, and develop all staff members on craft cocktails, local beers and Finger Lakes wines
- Assist with inventory management of bar supply, place and check orders
- Follow all state laws related to serving adult beverages including confirming legal drinking age as well as local food handling regulations

Originally called Rainbow Cove Resort, this resort has been on Seneca Lake since the 1950s. SAPALTA is a unique and distinctive variety of plum--a cross between a sand cherry and a Japanese plum.
