Overview of Role
The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing purchasing activities to support production build plans and sales velocity. This role plays a critical part in vendor management, cost optimization, and ensuring accurate and timely procurement of materials. The ideal candidate will have experience with MRP systems, NetSuite ERP, supplier relationships, and invoice accuracy while providing real-time shipping updates and exploring sourcing alternatives for cost improvements.
Key Responsibilities
MRP & Purchasing Support :
Ensure material availability aligns with production build plans and sales velocity.
Utilize NetSuite ERP and MRP systems to generate purchase orders and track procurement activities.
Vendor Relationship Management :
Manage relationships with domestic and international suppliers to maintain quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to optimize procurement efficiency.
Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Invoice & Order Tracking :
Ensure accuracy in invoicing, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
Work closely with Finance and Accounting to resolve discrepancies.
Shipping & Logistics Coordination :
Provide shipping updates to internal stakeholders to ensure production continuity.
Work with freight carriers and suppliers to optimize lead times and reduce costs.
Sourcing & Cost Optimization :
Continuously review and evaluate sourcing alternatives for improved cost savings.
Identify opportunities for supplier diversification and risk mitigation.
Our Ideal Candidate
Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree (BS / BA) in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of procurement experience.
Experience working with NetSuite ERP is required.
Technical Skills :
Understanding of MRP systems and purchasing workflows.
Intermediate Excel proficiency (pivot tables, charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.).
Other Requirements :
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
On-site role in Roseville, CA – no remote option.
