Position: Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney
Location: Bloomfield Hills, MI or Detroit, MI
Plunkett Cooney, one of the largest and most accomplished law firms in the Midwest, is seeking an associate to join the firm's medical malpractice practice group. Our medical malpractice team is looking for a motivated attorney that can be available to begin supporting them with handling matters, research, drafting documents and taking depositions.
Requirements:
Have 2-5 years of experience in a medical malpractice litigation practice
Deposition experience
Proficient and independent in handling litigation matters, including depositions, pre-trial discovery, mediations, trials, etc.
Excellent research, legal brief writing and communication skills are required
General litigation motion writing and courtroom oral skills
General understanding of medical records
Working knowledge of Michigan Court Rules and Rules of Evidence
Working knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
Comfort level with learning new computer software
J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
A member in good standing and active in the Michigan
