Job Description:
An Analytics Engineer provides clean data sets to end users, modeling data in a way that empowers Pluralsight teams to answer their own questions. They spend their time transforming, testing, deploying, and documenting data.
What you'll do:
Responsible for the enablement of Pluralsight team members, helping them use new datasets and dashboards that drive decision making
Assist in the curation and visualization of metrics, including Key Performance Indicators that drive operational and strategic success
Creation of datasets and dashboards to help with growth and expansion of our strategic revenue motion
The establishment and communication of analytics-related standards, including but not limited to code review, governance of processes, visualization standards, clearly defined use cases, and data security measures
Using your ability as a "systems problem solver" to proactively identify and transform suboptimal data, code, or infrastructure
Experience you'll bring:
Expertise with SQL and at least one programming language (Python, etc.) and/or dbt
Expertise building responsive data visualizations using Tableau or equivalent
Track record of training and enabling users of analytics tools and methods
Great foundation in Database Systems
Strong communication skills and willingness to take initiative to contribute beyond basic responsibilities
Experience with data warehousing architecture and data modeling standards
Preferred qualifications/skills
Experience with Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt preferred
Physical and Mental requirements
Work is performed in an office (or home office) environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Sedentary work. Repetitive work. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
